SO GOOD!! My friends and I were visiting Austin for the week and this place was only 10 minutes away from our airbnb. Some of them came the night before and were raving about the tacos so we went with everyone the next day. I can see the hype!! The staff was super friendly and the food was amazingg. I got 3 tacos (2 pastor and 1 barbacoa) with. Mexican Coke. The pastor was the crowd favorite and it was really good but my personal favorite was the barbacoa! SOO juicy and flavorful and went soo well with the red and green salsa. The green salsa was super spicy but it was so tasty. I wish I could take a bottle of it home and put it on everything!! There is only outside seating but the tables have plenty of shade and fans circulating around. There is also a private parking lot in the back of the taco truck where we could park! We can't wait to come back here when we are in Austin next time!!
Unassuming from the outside, but some of the best tacos I've had! 3.25 a taco but well worth it. I had asada, barbacoa and pastor. There's also plenty of seating and shaded patio seating as well. They came hot and fresh in foil (important). Will definitely be back!
Pastor is good, asada was better, homemade tortillas are flying off the griddle and making them sing. Nice verde salsa, fizzy drinks with too much sugar, like a quick Mexican sojourn without the hopper flight. Since we're staying local, let's hook them up with a recycling bin for all that glass. A little hyped, but oh so comforting from the authentic street tacos, family-friendly staff hosting the truck, and generous picnic tables under broad shade. A summer staple!
It's honestly a hit or miss when it comes to some really good tacos. I remembered I came here a couple years ago and didn't recall how good they were till this time around. I had their tacos de trompo, chicharrón, tripa, and asada. I decided to add some avocado on all of them and it's a personal favorite. Service was great and super quick! Enough outside sitting, that particular day was beautiful besides the bee's. Now onto the meats, my favorite was the Tripa. I asked for it to be fried a little longer and man was it delicious. Trompo & asada were just as good. Now, personally I didn't like the chicharrón, it just didn't taste fresh. Other than that, you do get green or red salsas and both had a nice kick nothing crazy. I can't wait to be back to try more of their other meats!
Las Trancas is the place for authentic tacos. No Tex-Mex here! I'm a fan of their asada and lengua tacos. The asada this time was a little dry, but it was still delicious. The lengua was probably my favorite because it's seasoned well and it just melts in your mouth. Their red salsa definitely has a kick to it so be prepared for the spice. I'm a corn tortilla gal, and I love that they use el Milagro corn tortillas! IYKYK They have a small parking area, but you're probably better off parking at the side streets since it can get pretty packed. Service is quick and they're able to take cash or card.
Fresh tortillas and the perfect balance of chicken, flavor, and spice. I had to go back for seconds. The food came out fairly quickly and I highly recommend
We decided to try a new taco spot and saw Las Trancas was highly rated. Highly rated for a reason!!! Food was delicious!! plus a variety of options. However, the best part is they have room to sit and park, extra bonus!
This place is legit and a food truck gem. I wish I knew about it when I lived on Riverside. The employees were quick and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious - because it's my first time here I got three tacos and they were all great. My biggest mistake is not getting them all on corn tortilla. There is an awning that can give shade but only outdoor seating. The prices were higher than some of the menu photos on here but not by much. It was $3/taco and there's a discount if you pay with cash.
I have good memories of coming to Las Trancas a few years ago and getting their chicken quesadillas, but this time I went I saw it wasn't on the menu, so I am not sure if my memory is correct. I got the jamon quesadilla plate, which was warm and came with tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, and avocados. The ham tasted a little too much like classic lunch meat, but I still liked it with the avocados. It said $10 on the menu, but I think I was charged more for using card, although it didn't say anywhere on the menu that the prices were reflected for cash only. It is still good value for the price. The tacos were not as great of a value as my friend got two tacos that were very small, so I gave her one of my quesadillas. She said the tacos were very good though. Our food came out quickly. There is plenty of seating as there are large picnic tables. There are a few parking spots in the lot as well as free street parking.
